The project covered the entire cycle of creating a comprehensive methodological and technological platform for project management: from modeling business processes to developing regulations and working templates.
Analysis and Modeling of Business Processes
The first stage was an in‑depth analytical effort aimed at studying the company’s existing project management practices. Since the organization was engaged in development projects, it required a clear structuring of processes related to project initiation, planning, execution, and completion.
To model the business processes, I used the professional tool ARIS, which made it possible to create detailed diagrams and logical schemes of the future Corporate Project Management System (CPMS). As a result, the following key processes were defined and aligned:
- project initiation process;
- planning process;
- execution and control process;
- project closure process;
- project portfolio management processes;
- individual project management processes.
This approach ensured transparency, consistency, and a correct sequence for all stages of project activities.
Development of Regulatory Documentation
Based on the modeled processes, a complete set of regulations, instructions, and methodological materials was prepared. All documents were developed in accordance with PMBOK standards, ensuring compliance with international project management practices.
The documents defined:
- the roles of participants in project activities;
- rules for interaction and decision‑making;
- requirements for plans, reporting, and control points;
- unified standards for maintaining project documentation;
- the structure of project and portfolio templates.
This allowed the company to implement a transparent and predictable project management system that was clear to all participants.
Configuration of MS Project 2010 and Templates
The next stage was the creation of a set of standard templates for Microsoft Project 2010, adapted to the specifics of development projects. The following were developed:
- basic project plan templates;
- calendar templates;
- standardized work breakdown structures (WBS);
- reporting forms and control point templates.
As a result, the company received not just a software product but a full‑fledged tool environment integrated with methodology and business processes.
Implementation Results
The implementation of the CPMS enabled LLC “Business‑Real Estate” to:
- improve the manageability of projects and the entire portfolio;
- reduce planning time through the use of standard templates;
- enhance the quality of work execution control;
- ensure a unified regulatory framework for project management;
- increase transparency of communication between departments.
The created system became the foundation for further development of project culture and increased operational efficiency within the company.
