Project for the implementation of a corporate project management system in the Bureau of Engineering Design based on the MS Project Online software product. Development of project management processes, Setting up the MS Project Online information system; training of company employees involved in project activities to work with MS Project Pro and MS Project Online software products.

Project objectives:

  • Form a portfolio of company projects
  • Form a corporate pool of company resources
  • Develop processes and regulations for the company's project management.
  • Develop templates for plans and schedules for typical company projects.
  • Train company employees to work with MS Project Pro and MS Project Online software
  • Develop reports of project activities based on system data in MS Power BI and MS Excel

Project implementation:

Stage 1. Configuring time and content management.

Templates were developed for timelines of typical projects, indicating tasks, deadlines and types of resources required for the implementation of projects. Based on the developed templates, a portfolio of company projects was formed.

Views have been developed in the MS Project Online system to control and work with project deadlines.

Project managers were trained in planning and tracking project deadlines in MS Project Pro and MS Project Online.

Based on the completed project portfolio, reports were developed in MS Power BI for managing the timing of portfolio projects.

Stage 2. Cost and contract management.

Created corporate resources describing budgets, contractors and additional project costs. Budgets have been assigned for all projects in the portfolio and a payment plan for projects.

Project contractors and were assigned to project tasks. Depending on the working conditions of the contractors, changes were made to the project schedules.

Company employee costs and incremental costs have been assigned to project tasks. As a result, project budgets were formed and agreed.

To work with budgets and costs, new views have been created in MS Project Online.

Trainings for project managers on planning and tracking project costs in MS Project Pro and MS Project Online.

A report on work with costs and budgets in MS Excel and MS Power BI was developed based on the data downloaded from MS Project Online.

Stage 3. Management of company resources.

All employees of the company were introduced as corporate resources of the company. Company employees have been added to projects and their workload has been optimized

Configured views for company employees for reporting in MS Project Online.

Developed video courses and held presentations for the company's employees on working in MS Project Online.

Reports have been developed for analyzing and tracking information about projects and resources in MS Power BI and MS Excel.
