HR project manager - Member of project management role. The main task of the expert performing this role is to manage the project workforce and addressing resource conflicts. This role can be assigned as the project manager, as well as individual professionals - members of the project team.

Key Tasks of a Project Human Resources Manager

  1. Resource Needs Planning
    • Determining which specialists the project requires, in what quantity, and for what duration.
    • Developing a resource plan that considers workload, competencies, and timelines.
  2. Staff Recruitment and Allocation
    • Searching for and engaging necessary specialists (internal or external).
    • Assigning employees to project tasks based on their qualifications and workload.
    • Negotiating resource allocation with functional managers.
  3. Managing Team Workload and Efficiency
    • Monitoring employee workload to prevent overloading or underutilization.
    • Adjusting plans according to changes in project scope.
    • Controlling productivity and the quality of task execution.
  4. Team Development and Support
    • Organizing training and upskilling activities according to project needs.
    • Building a positive work environment and maintaining motivation.
    • Resolving conflicts and human-related issues within the project team.
  5. Managing HR‑Related Risks
    • Identifying risks such as staff shortages, turnover, or lack of required competencies.
    • Developing measures to mitigate these risks (training, backup resources, task redistribution).
  6. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintaining HR documentation related to the project (resource plans, workload reports, timesheets).
    • Preparing regular reports for the project manager.
  7. Communication and Coordination
    • Collaborating with the project manager, HR department, and functional managers.
    • Ensuring transparency regarding resource status and availability.
